How we research

Visa and legal claims come from governments and official portals, dated and linked. Costs are labelled planning estimates. We have not visited the places we list.

Source hierarchy

For a visa rule, fee or income threshold we use sources in this order:

  1. Legislation and official gazettes, with the article cited.
  2. Immigration ministries, consulates and official application portals, read in a real browser where a page needs one.
  3. Tax authorities and international bodies, such as the IRS, the European Commission and PwC's published tax summaries (labelled secondary).
  4. Providers' own pages for insurance and banking terms, plus named reporting where an official page is unavailable.

When an official page does not publish a figure, the tracker stores an empty field rather than a guess. A figure that comes from a general service page rather than a nomad-specific one is annotated as generic.

What our evidence labels mean

  • Open, closed, none, unclear: the status of a visa scheme in the tracker, with the evidence for it.
  • Computed: a figure we worked out from an official formula, such as an income threshold stated as a multiple of a minimum wage. The formula is shown.
  • Estimate: a planning figure such as cost of living, wifi, safety or English ease. It is a rounded editorial scenario, not a measurement, and carries an Estimate label.
  • Secondary: from a reputable secondary source, because the official page was not available or readable. Marked as such.

How prices and specs are checked and dated

Time-sensitive pages carry a published or updated date and an update log. The visa tracker records each scheme's source URL and the date we read it, and a changes log records rule changes. Costs are planning baselines built from accommodation, food, workspace, transport, connectivity and a buffer; currency conversions state the rate source and date. When a rule changes or a source conflicts with our copy, we correct the page and record the change.

What we do not do

We have not visited the coworking spaces and cities we list, and nothing here is a first-hand test. There are no ratings built from our own experience. Safety and English-ease figures are context, not certainty.

This site is general information only. Immigration rules and tax residency depend on your nationality, status and facts. Verify with the official authority, and with a qualified adviser for legal, tax or immigration decisions, before you act.

How pages are checked

Every fact is checked against its cited source, and each page gets a separate review pass before it is published. The corrections log lists what those reviews and readers have caught.
