About
How Nomad Terminal researches a long stay
The site exists to reduce expensive uncertainty before a move. We separate sourced facts, planning estimates and editorial recommendations so readers can check the part that matters most to them.
Who publishes this
The Nomad Terminal editorial team, an independent research publication, live since July 2026. We do not use personal bylines or invented reviewer profiles. Every fact is checked against its cited source, and each page gets a separate review pass before it is published. Read the full method, the editorial policy and the dated corrections log. This site is general information, not legal, tax or immigration advice.

Read city researchEditorial methodology
No single source can answer whether a city works for a remote professional. Different claims need different evidence.
Visa and legal claims
We start with immigration ministries, consulates, legislation and official application portals. Pages link the source used and say when an official page does not publish a figure. The visa tracker stores an empty field rather than a guess.
Costs and city data
Monthly costs are planning baselines built from accommodation, food, workspace, transport, connectivity and a practical buffer. They are directional editorial scenarios, not measurements and not a quote for every lifestyle.
Safety and workday fit
Safety and English-ease scores are context, not certainty. City pages add neighbourhood, transport, internet and routine-specific guidance so one number does not carry the whole decision.
Updates and corrections
Time-sensitive pages carry publication or update dates and an update log. When a rule changes or a source conflicts with our copy, we correct the page and record the change.
How we label estimates
Every city page shows cost of living, wifi, safety, English ease and community size. These figures are planning estimates: rounded editorial scenarios that we have not measured city by city. Each one carries an Estimate label that links here.
Only a few cities have a per-city data note with a currency conversion method, a checked date and linked sources (today Canggu and Milan). Even there, the wifi and safety figures remain estimates and the page says so. We are extending the sourced notes city by city; until a city has one, treat its numbers as a starting point for your own checks.
We have not visited the coworking spaces and cities we list. Nothing here is a first-hand test.
Affiliate independence
Some provider links can earn a commission at no added cost to you. Commercial relationships do not decide which city, visa or provider is covered, and we do not invent ratings to make a link look stronger.

Immigration pages move, prices change and local conditions vary by building or block. If you find a source that changes a published claim, send the page URL and the source so we can review it.
